The Junior Civic League of Chillicothe was formed in 1950 by three women who decided there was a need in the area for a women's community service group. Since then, the League's mission and philosophy has evolved into building partnerships, by receiving contributions and performing fundraising activities for distribution back into the community.
WAYS & MEANS

It shall be the duty of the ways and means committee to present ideas for moneymaking projects to the League and to oversee the completion of these projects. Fundraising activities must be discussed with the Executive Board and approved through majority vote by general membership.

TICKETS: $30.00 if purchasing a single ticket or $25.00 per ticket if purchasing two

Dress in your finest derby attire, and join us for our first Night at the Races! Enjoy good food, drinks, music, and horse racing.

HOW DOES IT WORK? There will be 10 featured horse races, each with 10 horses. All of the horses in the first eight races are available for purchase by individuals prior to the night of the event. By purchasing a horse, you get to name both the horse and the horse owner. These names will be included in the program, and called while your horse makes its way around the track. If your horse wins, you will double your money! The ninth race is the Business Big Stakes race. The horses in this race are available for purchase by businesses. Because there are only 10 horses available for this race, they will go fast! If you would like to secure a spot for your business in this featured race, please complete and send in the Horse Race Order Form. The winning business will receive $200 and additional prizes. The horses in the last race will be auctioned off on the night of the event. Brave it alone, or go in with friends and bid on your favorite horse. The owner(s) of the winning horse in the final auction race, will receive half of the amount raised during the auction. Those who don't own a horse, can still participate in the action by placing bets and cheering on their favorite horses in each race.

WHERE CAN I FIND TICKETS? There is a limited number of tickets available and they are going fast! Tickets include heavy appetizers, and a cash bar will be available. If you would like to join us, tickets can be purchased at Whited, Seigneur, Sams & Rahe CPAs, LLP and Spaulding Family Chiropractic and Sports Therapy. No time to pick up your tickets? Contact a Junior Civic League member to reserve them for you.
